It's time for an introduction to another series regular around here! Introducing: Buyer's Rave or Remorse? Where I post my thoughts on a new product or products I've recently purchased and discuss if it was worth the hype, the money, the trip to Sephora..etc. to purchase. It will predominantly be a blog series, but if I collect a few notable items, I'll post a video to my channel For the first in the series, I'm reviewing the:
Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Soft and Sexy Collection ($36.00 at Sephora)
Boudoir Beauty
Satin Shadow Goodness
The verdict on this palette is definitely: RAVE! Some highlights include:
- 9 shadows in 3 sections (Day, Classic, and Fashion) to help you create looks for all occasions.
- Ability to mix varied shadows for your own unique looks as well.
- Beautiful shimmery pigments without fallout and/or chunky glitter (French Tickler is heavier on the glitter but if used sparingly, issues are avoidable)
- Ability to create neutral day variations as well we va-va-voom evening looks.
- Very nice color payoff for a look that is sexy and smoldering without having to pile on the liner and/or false lashes. But adding those would only amp up the smolder a notch.
- A variety of shimmer and matte shadows for added dimension in a look.
- A variety of shadows that I think would work for both warm and cool toned skin.
- An affordable price for the amount of product! $36.00 seemed like a fair amount to spend initially to me, but when it was between this and the Naked Basics Palette (6 matte shadows for $28.00), this was the clear winner.
- Extra notable: Satin Sheets is a glorious blush color with a gold duo chrome that is amazing! Reminds me of a sunset in Hawaii.
So, there you go! Cheers to the very first Buyer's Rave or Remorse? And I hope a great week is ahead for all!
Best,
Kenz
